Crossing over into new territory, Festival of Games IX will be the first edition to take place in Europe’s number one destination according to Lonely Planet: Amsterdam! More than just a change of environment, Amsterdam is the perfect setting for the internationally oriented Festival of Games.  The new venue, De Overkant, is conveniently located across the passenger terminal of the Amsterdam Central Station, from which you will have no problem tapping into everything this international city with over 177 nationalities has to offer.

Moving to Amsterdam has also allowed us to establish a close collaboration with the yearly app festival Appril, through which we aim to create a better understanding of the fading borders between games and apps.

Crossing Over Into New Territories
Festival of Games IX will take place on the 24^th and 25^th of April, 2013. The overarching theme this year will be “Crossing Over Into New Territories”, focusing on the many ways businesses can transgress the borders of the games industry to create new concepts, knowledge and opportunities.

What To Expect

While the setting may have changed, the core focus of Festival of Games is still to provide its visitors the means to make deals, share knowledge and grow their networks.

For the first time, visitors will have the option to do so in three different tracks: Festival of Games for Talent, which aims to connect promising young professionals to fitting companies; Festival of Games for Executives, built around Festival of Games’ unique Pitch and Match and an extensive strong social program; and the Creative Spirit Game Conference, which bridges the gap between the Talent and Executive tracks with inspirational as well as motivational talks.
